Perfection is not a destination. It’s a Journey.
You just have to concentrate on getting better than yesterday.
I meet so many people, entrepreneurs, and even creators (Or striving to become one) who are just too scared of starting because their content, video, or business won’t be as good-looking or “Perfect” as the person they are most inspired by.
The fear is usually about not creating a “Perfect” thing, and perfectionism is the biggest enemy of creativity.
Personally, when opening my 1st smart-aging clinic, I gave myself a week to come up with a name and logo.
2 things I kept in my mind throughout that week -
I can rebrand after some time as my vision matures or changes.
Logon ko logo se kya fark padta hai? (Your clients really don’t care much about your logo)
The whole idea is to do or become a little better than yesterday. That’s all it matters.
Let’s discuss a mental model where I can put almost everyone I meet regularly.
Now to some people, this arrow looks like a small journey, but for some, it’s the most immense journey ever.
Now there are 4 different types of people.
Human 1- I can & I will.
These are the people you want to surround yourself with, partner with, or hire if you can afford them. Though I doubt they will work under anyone. They are the Doers + Learners, which is a very rare combo to find, as whatever they do, they can keep getting better at it by learning more and more.
(this is the kind of person I daily strive to be)Human 2- I Can’t, but I will.
These are your ideal candidate to hire. You need to show them the path, and they will do it. I call them the reputation guys. If a task needs to be done for a long time in the same manner, this is the kind of human you need in your life.Human 3: I can, but I won’t.
This is very common in our generation, where they have watched all the motivational content on reels and youtube, but they won’t take the first step.
Till the time reason for procrastination is perfection, it can be fixed. But, if it’s not that, these are the people you don’t want to hire or work with. They don’t understand the concept of delayed gratification and never will.Human 4: I can’t, and I won’t.
They are the ones who are lost. So let them roam around and figure out what they love, and once they do, they will become human 2 automatically.
As SRK once said “Jo Kuch Nahi Karte, Woh Bohot Kuch Kar Jaate Hai”
I hope this helps you strive daily to become Human 1.
